Registration Fees

Confirmation of registration subject to receive of payment

For Main Congress

Please take note that Congress registration fees includes free entry to Pre-Congress Workshop, Hawker’s Night and Banquet Dinner. Extra tickets for Hawker’s Night (RM70) and Banquet Dinner (RM80) can be purchased from secretariat.

Places are limited, hence please register early! – Confirmation of registration is subject to receipt of payment
Cheque or local orders (LPO) should be made payable to “Perinatal Society Congress” and sent to Congress Secretariat.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
The Conference Secretariat must be notified in writing of all cancellations. Refund will be made after the Conference. The refund policy is as follow:
Cancellation on and before 28th February 2011 : 50% refund
Cancellation after 1st March 2011 : NIL

Certificate of Attendance
A certificate of attendance will be issued to all delegates.

Liability
The Organising Committee will not be liable for personal accidents, loss or damage to private properties of participants during the conference. Participants should make own arrangements with respect to personal insurance.

Free Paper Presentation (Oral and Poster)

Instructions for authors

1. Delegates are invited to present scientific work as oral or poster presentation.
2. All presenters of papers (oral or poster) must be registered delegates of the Congress. Abstracts will not be accepted without payment of registration fees.
3. Abstracts should not contain work that has been previously published or presented elsewhere.
4. Authors are advised to read the Guidelines to Authors (below).
5. Abstracts (oral or poster presentation) must be submitted electronically to abstracts_psm@yahoo.com on or before 31st January 2011.
6. Authors will be notified of acceptance/rejection of their abstracts by the Scientific Committee.
7. No limit is imposed on the number of abstracts submitted.

PSM Investigator Award

Only work done in Malaysia is eligible for this award. Four awards will be presented; one each in the neonatal nursing/midwifery, obstetrics, and neonatology and one for poster presentation. Each prize consists of a certificate and RM500.00. These will be presented during the Congress banquet.

Eligibility: The presenting author must be a member of the PSM. Other than for the nursing category, the presenting author must be
below the age of 40 years at the time of presentation. Please indicate if you wish to be considered for this award in your abstract
submission. Only studies done completely in Malaysia (research design and work) will be considered for this award. Partially done studies in Malaysia will NOT be eligible. No award will be given for Case reports or series. The decision of the scientific committee prior to the congress on issues of eligibility is final.

Selection: The panel of judges will be appointed by the Scientific Committee, and the judges decisions will be final. No awards will be made if there are less than 3 papers in any category or if the quality of all papers in each category is not deemed to be suitable for the award(s).

Guidelines to Authors (oral or poster) on abstract submission

1. The abstracts (oral or poster) should be limited to 250 words.
2. Submissions must be in English.
3. The title should be in Capital letters, followed by the names of authors (underline the presenting author), then names of the department/ hospital/ institution at which the work was carried out.
4. Words should be in Arial font, size 11, single spacing
5. Start with a statement of the main purpose of the study in a single sentence, followed by the methods used, the results, and finally the conclusion.
6. Do not include graphs or tables or references
7. Attach your names, addresses and contact numbers (especially mobile phone number and email addresses) for ease and speed of communication.

Oral Presentation

1. The allocated time for each presentation is 10 minutes with 2 minutes for discussion.
2. Screen projections will be made via a standard LCD projector with standard Microsoft Powerpoint presentations.
3. All presenting materials must be handed to the technician-in-charge at least 2 hours before the scheduled sessions. Please be punctual for the presentation.

Poster Presentation

1. Posters must be mounted on the assigned board before the opening ceremony.
2. The poster board provided is 1 meter in width and 1.4 meter in length.
3. The top of your poster should have the title and the names of the authors. The lettering for this section should not be less than 50 mm in height. Other major headings should be in lettering at least 20 mm in height, and minor letterings should be at least 5 mm in height.
4. Authors are required to be at the poster site for the presentation and discussion during the poster presentation session.
5. The Organising Committee will not be responsible for posters which have not been dismounted by the end of the Congress.
