PSM Travel Grant

 

Three Traveling Fellowships Grant will be awarded each year for PSM active members and the maximum amount to be given to each Traveling Fellow will be RM2500. One grant will be awarded to the paediatrician, one grant will be awarded to the obstetrician, and one grant will be awarded to the nurse.

 

TERMS OF REFERENCE (TOR): PSM FELLOWSHIP TRAVELLING GRANT

1. Purpose

The Perinatal Society of Malaysia (PSM) Travelling Grant is established to support doctors, specialists, trainees and specialised nurses in the field of perinatology and related disciplines to enhance their knowledge, skills, and research capacity. The grant aims to:

2. Eligibility

Applicants must:

  1. Be a current member of the Perinatal Society of Malaysia in good standing.
  2. Be a medical practitioner (doctor, specialist, specialised nurse or trainee) actively involved in perinatal, maternal, or neonatal care.
  3. Have at least 2 years of clinical or academic experience in the field.
  4. Demonstrate a clear plan for training and the potential to apply acquired knowledge/skills to local practice.
  5. Not have received the same grant within the past 3 years.

4. Application Procedure

  1. Call for applications will be announced annually on the PSM website and via official communication channels.
  2. Applicants must submit:
    • Completed application form.
    • Curriculum Vitae.
    • Outline of proposed training programme, including host institution’s confirmation/acceptance letter.
    • Statement of purpose (max 500 words).
    • One referee report (preferably Head of Department/Supervisor).
  3. Applications must be submitted at least 3 months before the intended date of travel.

6. Recipient’s Obligations

Successful applicants must:

  1. Acknowledge the support of PSM in all related presentations/publications.
  2. Submit a written report (1,000–1,500 words) to the PSM Council within 2 months of completing the fellowship.
  3. Present their experience and learning outcomes at the next PSM Annual Congress or relevant meeting.
  4. Commit to sharing and applying acquired knowledge to strengthen perinatal practice in Malaysia.
